The aim of Work package 6 (WP6) is to establish a holistic integrative approach, building on the framework of AOPs, to develop a multi-tiered hierarchical methodology for grouping, read-across and hazard and exposure modelling of NMs that will be subsequently used to support decision-making processes, risk assessment and safe-by-design product development. This WP will use the data, information and knowledge generated in WPs2-5 for tool development and validation.
The following specific objectives will be achieved:
- New read-across methods will be developed, applied and validated based on User-defined case studies, considering the multiple perspectives of characterising NMs;
- Novel, biological pathway-oriented toxicity assessment methodology will be constructed, validated, and implemented;
- A decision support system for nanomaterials safety-by-design will be developed based on known adverse outcome pathways and identified descriptors.
