BfR TA builds on the strong track record of BfR’s regulatory-focussed research and their extensive experience of curation of datasets for modelling and risk assessment. This will be drawn forwards into a set of services for Users in the community to enhance the quality of datasets emerging from large scale EU and nationally funded projects. Focus will be on nanoinformatics integration into experimental workflows, as well as on provision of User Access to tools and expertise for nanomaterials predictive toxicology, nanomaterials categorisation and nanomaterials risk assessment.
BfR offers support to Users in the design of their experiments to be directly compatible with the processing tools, or for Users that already have datasets, will work with the Users to format the existing data utilising the data curation, categorisation and grouping or Risk Assessment tools to enable analysis, predictive nanotoxicology and/or visualisation of the data sets. Full technical expertise, bioinformatics support and analysis and paper writing support are included in the package to TA offered by BfR to fully support Users nanoinformatics needs.
Users will have the opportunity to undertake site visits to its facilities dedicated to the evaluation of nanomaterial characterisation and nanomaterial toxicity testing or can avail of BfR experts visiting User labs to offer advice on best practice. BfR TA also offers access to expertise and computational tools focussed on data curation, categorisation and grouping / visualisation, and risk assessment of nanomaterials.
The TA offered by BfR falls under four categories:
- Nanoinformatics and nanosafety workflows
- Data Processing and Analysis services
- Data visualisation including categorisation and grouping
- Risk Assessment tools
